Staying at Vumba was a great experience! Joana and her Team have a kind and fun personality. We enjoyed spending time with them at the farm, learning how to melk and make the cheese- our 3 year old son loved to feed the animals and spend time at this special place! The accomodation was lovely prepared! Very clean and enough wood to make it warm and comfy in the kitchen and living room area. For the bedroom and bathroom we had electric heating as it was still a bit fresh in march time! The breakfast we can warmly recommendthe granola is fantastic as well as this special cheese and all around that with fruits and coffe and much more! The spot is in a nice distance to check out the mountain surrounding, also it is not too far away from the beach! We loved to stay at the pool area as well where you have a great view and can relax also if you dont use the water for swimming! Thank you so much for your generousity and kindess, all the laughter and the treats on the side!

Super séjour de 3 jours avec nos 3 enfants. Super site, très belle déco, piscine très belle et très appréciée des enfants tout comme les poules que l’on peut nourrir soit même ! Je recommande la visite de la bergerie sur le domaine. Et sinon à l’extérieur du domaine les adresses données par Joanna sont top nous avons adoré la ballade et baignade à Foz dEgua ainsi que le resto à Vimieiro (ne pas trop manger avant car c’est très copieux mais super bon). Le site est vraiment super et les installations sont top. Il y a une petite kitchenette bien équipée mais la grande cuisine salon avec grande terrasse est vraiment géniale pour passer du temps en famille. Bref on recommande plus que chaudement !!!

“Visit the farm, tour the shisto villages and bring the dog! 🙂 Joana was a lovely host, she went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The yogurt and queijo fresco from her goats are superb! We did not stay long enough to enjoy the pool, but it looked lovely! She is also very dog friendly which was a plus for us and our dog. In this current COVID-19 age of travel it was also very reassuring to see how clean the room and common spaces were. Vumba takes safety seriously! We will be back again soon, and next time we hope to stay longer!

We (my husband, our three kids between 4 and 8 and myself) had the best time at Vumba! Vumba is such a beautiful farm, a lovely place to enjoy your holiday in every way. Joanna and Patrick are very sweet and gave us valuable information about the surroundings (we went to Bucaco and to Avo, both very beautiful places to visit) and provided us with fruit, vegetables and we also had the possibility to collect more to a low price. Joanna arranged for us so we got bread in the morning and the best yoghurt. The swimingpool-area was also very tastefully decorated. We took a goatsafari on the farm that was wery apprecisted by all of us. We saw sheep, goats and got a little tour in the the cheese-factory that is situated on the farm. We would definetely go back, it was perfect!

Our stay at Vumba was wonderful. Joana is one of the bests hosts we have met and the farm is beautiful. The cheese and the yogurt are amazing! Reuben gave us a tour of the farm and it was very sad to see the damage from the fires but inspiring to see the rebuilding that is taking place. This stay is one I will remember for a lifetime.

Our stay was exceptional, a real nature break in a haven of peace. The swimming pool is very beautiful and the cottage tastefully decorated. Joana is a charming host and very caring for her guests. Go 'down-under' in Portugal at Vumba farm if you want to get away from everything that's touristy, want to see a clear sky of stars at night and you like the charm of a rooster/cock waking you up in the early morning. 😉 We've stayed at Vumba for two nights in August. The room was very pleasant, large and it stayed cool during the day time. Joanna was a great host and she gave is a list with good advice for eating and daytrips to towns and river places. She brought us fresh Bread in de morning, and if lucky, fresh eggs from the chickens at Vumba farm.

This place really is paradise, from the perfect location (1h to most destinations in Serra de Estrela or to the beaches) to the wonderful farm to all the little details that make you feel welcome and at home. They also provide you with their own artisanal handmade cheese and organic eggs from their chicken or vrgetables from their garden. We stayed with two little kids and everything was great, really highly recommended!

We stayed in Vumba for 4 nights and had our hearts pleading once we had to leave. This place is beyond amazing when you're looking for a calm, easy-going yet hip experience. Definitely recommend profiting from the daily farm life by getting hands on milking sheep (!) watching animals and learning about cheese production. The farm's fresh and matured cheese taste as tender, as it could get and Joana was ever so generous to provide it to us as soon we run out. We truly loved Joana, her family and staff for their genuine care and joyful attitude! They also had a very helpful list of sights and restos nearby.
